The R89 and R90 Group C cars competed at the very top level against the TWR Jaguars and the Porsche 962 in World Championship Group C Racing in Europe and Asia. In America, the GTP cars dominated IMSA Sportscar racing from 1988, winning 8 straight victories in that year, until 1991.
