The name Holden has a charisma for Australians that no other make of car can claim. Beginning with the release of the original model in the late 1940s, Australia's love affair with this car continues to the present day.

About the Author

Don Loffler is Australia's leading historian of early model Hoidens. Since the success of his first three best-selling books, She's a Beauty!, Still Holden Together and The FJ Holden, Don Loffler has been inundated with photographs, stories and memorabilia from Holden lovers across Australia. In Me and My Holden, Don continues his crusade to record these gems for posterity.

After years of being teased for never having owned a Holden, he can at last hold his head high as he now drives his very own 1953 48-215 sedan, which he calls 'Glenda'. Photographs of the car taken in its heyday feature in this book.The excitement Don felt when they came to light has been repeated many times over when people have lent him their old family photographs and colour slides for inclusion in this book — timepieces from a bygone era.

Don Loffler lives in Adelaide. He has been a Latin, Chemistry and German teacher, but now devotes most of his time to his Holden hobby and passion.
