1965 was the year of the restyle but the most important fact was the 427 engine. Copied by Plymouth and American Motors, Ford then put in a much less economic 7-litre, V8. The Galaxie 500XL provided for those who wanted a sports car and the LTD was built for luxury.By the early seventies the big cars were still grabbing a large part of Ford's sales.
