Bases of Bomber Command - Then and Now

Noted World War II aviation historian Roger Freeman's latest book uses the "Then and Now" formula on the 100 or so wartime aerodromes of the wartime RAF Bomber Command. His vivid images of these now mostly abandoned airstrips is made more poignant by the fact that over sixty years after the war memories are still vivid to those who live near thse once busy bases where young men of a different era went on day and mostly night missions over Occupied Europe.
