Description
By: Walter Rohrl, Reinhard Klein .
Walter Rohrl won the Drivers' World Rally Championship in 1980 and 1982. During his rallying career from 1968 to 1987, the tall German was as famous, infamous and respected for his then unusual "racing style" on the rally tracks as for his outspokenness.
In his "Diary", Rohrl tells the inside stories of triumphs like his four Monte Carlo Rally wins, and the glorious and difficult times inherent in competing at the top level of motor sport.
Showing rare versatility Rohrl not only collected successes in rallying but was also a sought-after race driver. Since 1993 he has been a test driver and ambassador for Porsche, where he is involved in the development of the legendary sports cars.
Former colleagues, competitors and co-drivers including Marrku Alen, Stig Blomqvist, Tony Fall, Christian Geisdorfer, Michele Mouton, Giorgio Pianta, David Richards, and many other have contributed their views of the man and his times to give a comprehensive picutre of Rohrl and of more than 20 years of rallying.
Over 400 photographs, most of them in colour and many taken by internationally known rally photographer, Reinhard Klein, illustrate this unique autobiography.
