The VW Beetle created history by becoming the biggest-selling automobile in the world, purchased in its millions because of its simplicity and reliability. From the same manufacturer came a further range of very different vehicles, from 23-window Buses, to elegant coupes styled by Karmann. They have been blasted down drag strips and driven across deserts, painted every colour of the rainbow and chromed and customized to within an inch of their lives.
