There is a remarkable similarity in the professional careers of SUCH SWEET THUNDER authors John Blunsden and David Phipps. Both are leading freelance rnotor racing journalists with strong international connections. Each is European Editor fora leading United States journal — Blunsden for Sports Car Graphic, Phipps for Autoweek — and writes regularly for magazines in many other parts of the world. Both are former editors of motor sporting journals in Britain, and each is currently responsible for the production of a motor racing arinual — Blunsden for Motor Racing Year, Phipps for Autocourse.
Both have written a number of other motor racing books, and are members of the Guild of Motoring Writers and the International Racing Press Association. Both travel widely as members of the international motor racing 'circus' — but do much of their writing at their respective homes some 12 miles south of London.
