Description

SLIPCASE CLOTHEBOUND EDITION, Limited print - 500 copies.

Author: Steve Stuckey, ISBN: 9788890957161, Published in 2015, 1st edition, 439 pages.

Following publication of two books on his favourite Bentley and Rolls-Royce models, titled “Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining” and “Early Days”, Davide Bassoli in Italy – through his publishing arm Nubes Argentea, has now released this superlative book.

Written by the world expert on the Phantom III, Steve Stuckey of Australia, it features a detailed historical analysis of this magnificent Rolls-Royce model fitted with a V-12 engine and includes literally hundreds of monochrome period and modern photographs, many of which have not been seen before.

Only 735 examples of this model were produced from 1936 to 1939 and although by far the majority still survive, it has been decided that only 500 copies of the book will be printed and of these, 120 were pre-ordered by owners and enthusiasts around the world.

Nubes Argentea is proud to announce that its latest book “The Spectre Arises: The Story of the Phantom III, the ultimate Pre-war Rolls-Royce” is now available for sale. The author is Steve Stuckey, from Australia, and is the result of more than 30 years of research into the Phantom III.

The Spectre Arises covers in detail the development of the most innovative Rolls-Royce of the pre-war era, with its 7.4 litre V-12 engine and independent front suspension. This is followed by comprehensive chapters about the coachbuilders and the bodies they mounted on the chassis, and histories of many of the cars. There are almost 500 illustrations, most from the 1930s and 1940s, including large numbers of original coachbuilder and dealer photographs, many never published before. Most examples of the 727 Phantom IIIs ever built are illustrated in the book.
