Description
By: Dennis Ortenburger .
First published in 1977, Dennis Ortenburger's - The Original Lotus Elite became an instant classic. It was the first definitive book written about the cars and reflected his enthusiasm and the enormous amount of research put into the project with many photographs and historical details published for the first time. The book also had the distinction of being one of the first to include factory records of every car built. Date of invoice, chassis and engine numbers, first customer and date sold were features of this list, which have enabled every Elite owner to trace his car's history starting at the very beginning. It was so successful in fact, that it spawned two more books on the Elite. Each time Dennis added more new information, photos and original drawings - All of them essential volumes for the enthusiasts library.
The first book has long been sought after and copies of the out-of-print volume have rarely changed hands, obtaining huge prices at auction. This new edition will resolve the supply problems and be welcomed by all. Appropriately, it has not been totally revised, with the changes limited to a new cover and a few new photographs. This way, the book retains all the charm of the time frame in which it was written.
