Description

By: Larry O'Toole .

Almost all manufacturers who have ever sold vehicles in Australia have made a ute at some time or other and in The Good Old Aussie Ute author Larry O'Toole brings to the reader the complete story on how the ute came to be so dear to the Aussie heart.

Utes first emerged in the 1920s and have been manufactured right through to the present day.
Early versions were usually roadster utes with a soft top and integral utility bed, but in the early 1930s Ford came up with the coupe utility concept that set the pattern for the famous "Aussie Ute" to become a legend.

The Good Old Aussie Ute has pictures and background information on the early coupe utes including an original '33 Ford model that the author maintains could be one of the original prototypes.

Extensive photographic content allows most makes and models, from the most obscure to the most popular, to be identified.
