Description

Author: David Thirlby, Hardbound, 237 Pages, ISBN: B003ZU2LJK, First Edition, 1965 - Second-Hand book in excellent unread condition !

No car was more individual, no car was more sporting in character than the prewar chain-driven Frazer Nash. It stemmed from an equally fascinating cyclecar, also of sporting character, the G.N.

In this fascinating book David Thirlby, a qualified mechanical engineer who has raced Frazer Nashes in the past and who ten years ago became Registrar of the Frazer Nash section of the Vintage Sports Car Club, looks intimately at how these two makes came into being, how they were made as they were, the impact they made on their owners and the competition world; more, he sorts out the complex range of G.N. and Frazer Nash production and racing models, the various engines used in them and the "specials" that were developed from them.

Not a great many of these cheeky, fast, gearbox-less motor-cars were made; yet many still race today. The car-by-car Register of every Frazer Nash produced, forms a valuable Appendix to this authentic history of one of Britain's greatest sports cars; and the pictures Thirlbv has chosen to illustrate his book are definitely for the enthusiast.
