Henry Ford revolutionized agriculture not once but twice. First with the 1916 introduction of his Fordson tractor; a lightweight, general purpose, inexpensive machine to replace horses on the world's farms. Soon Fordsons were almost as common on farms as the Ford Model Ts and As were on roads.
In 1939, Henry Ford struck again with the N Series tractors, which offered better ergonomics, safety features, and a full line of dedicated implements. The first truly modern tractor, the Ford 9N set the style for all that followed. Millions of N Series tractors were built well into the 1950s, and many are still in service today, either as pampered collectibles or as wonderfully reliable, long-serving machines working lots big and small the world over.
The Big Book of Ford Tractors provides the most detailed and complete account ever given of these American icons. Amply illustrated with modern photography and vintage advertisements and covering all models from the earliest Fordson to the Ford-Fergusons, N Series, and the world tractors manufactured into the 1970s, the book also offers extensive information on the numerous options and accessories, implements, and variations that came out of Dearborn, Sherman Bros., and Funk Bros.
Written and compiled by the chief engineer of the Ford N Series tractors and the world's best-known Ford tractor historian, The Big Book of Ford Tractors is the ultimate one-stop resource for anyone with an interest in Ford tractors.
