Description

Author: John Lee, 480 Pages, ISBN: 9780873411424, 1st Edition, 1990 - Second Hand book in perfect condition !

This new standard catalog, focusing on the Chrysler Corporation "family" of cars, is a compilation of photos, articles, specifications tables and current value listings of all Chrysler, DeSoto, Dodge, Imperial and Plymouth automobiles. As such, the introduction to this book should recognize the valued contributions of writers and historians whose research is reflected in its pages.

Realizing that many automotive hobbyists have a preference for a specific brand (or marque) of cars, or multi-marque vehicles built by a single corporation, it seemed logical that a catalog formatted in this manner would prove popular. Therefore, the author was asked to tackle the formidible task of creating such a catalog from material existing at Krause blications.

You'll find engine sizes, horsepower ratings, wheelbases, production figures, selling prices, weights, measurements and tire sizes — just to name a few items.

Thanks for the gathering of these facts go to the authors of three other catalogs, previously published by Krause Publications. They are The Standard Catalog of American Cars 1805-1942 by Beverly Rae Kimes and Austin Clark, Jr.; The Standard Catalog of American Cars 1946-1975 by John A. Gunnell; and The Standard Catalog of American Cars 1976- 1986 by Jim Flammang.

The final element that came into play in the creation of this catalog was the tabulations of current "ballpark value" for Chryslers, DeSotos, Dodges, Imperials and Plymouths. These were sourced from the Old Cars Price Guide, which is compiled on a bimonthly basis by Kenneth Buttolph and James T. Lenzke. The prices are formatted according to Krause Publication's time-tested 1-to-6 condition scale, so that Chrysler fans who read the catalog can determine their cars' values in a variety of conditions.
