This book is dedicated to John Meredith Finch, late chairman of the Railton Owners Club who suddenly and sadly passed away in January 1995. He was the inspiration for this Gold Portfolio and started the ball rolling some months before his untimely death. The club's vice-president John Dyson took over responsibility for the project and he has generously extended to us every assistance to bring the book to fruition.
He supplied material from his extensive library, penned introductions to both the Railton and Brough Superior sections of the book and finally put his car - a 1935 Railton 8 cylinder Sports Saloon with a body by Ranalah - at our disposal for photography - this is the car that graces our front cover. We are very grateful to him for all his efforts.
