Description
By: Steve Reyes .
Drag racing's golden age saw cars and engines pushing the envelope for more power, often resulting in a beautiful chaos that both drag fans and non-drag fans alike could relate to.
Stepping directly into harm's way, Steve Reyes often found himself dodging and ducking car parts when things did not go so smoothly for the racers. Fortunately for us, he managed to snap a couple shots amidst all the chaos. While the spectators thought the drivers were crazy, the drivers thought that Steve was crazy for standing out there trying to capture that one special photo. This book, Quarter-Mile Chaos, is filled with hundreds of those chaotic and frenzied photos.
A native of Northern California, Steve Reyes has been a dedicated drag racing fan since witnessing his first organized drag race at Fremont Drag Strip at the age of 15. He began taking pictures, and soon his photos began appearing in publications such as Drag News, National Dragster, Drag Digest, Drag World, Drag Racing Magazine, Drag Racing Almanac, and more. Before long, Steve found himself regularly covering major NHRA, AHRA, and IHRA races up and down the West Coast.
