Description

By: Rob Simmonds .

Record breaking is the best way to describe Colin Edwards's amazing fight back to win the 2002 World Superbike crown.

The straight-talking Texan clawed his way back from a 58 point deficit to rival Troy Bayliss with a record nine straight wins, culminating in an epic do or die season finale at Imola.
Here is the story of Colin's rise to the top, from his first teetering ride on a motorbike at just three years old, through his days motocrossing as a kid in Texas, before causing a massive stir on the American roadracing scene.

He won the AMA 250cc GP title at his first attempt, before dominating the end of the 1994 AMA Superbike season and moving on to the World scene with Yamaha and then Honda.

Author Rob 'Bertie' Simmonds wrote this biography in close co-operation with Colin and his family. He has been a journalist for more than a decade, and after working at Motor Cycle News as Sports Reporter and then at Bike as Road Test Editor, he is now Editor of Two Wheels Only.
