In 1951 a small, and at the time rather unknown, sportscar manufacturer started to slowly make a name for itself: Ferry Porsche had, with the original 356, set a legend in motion - and as the first customers won the first races in 1951, graphic artist Erich Strenger also designed the first poster with which the young enterprise was to announce itself: Porsche heralds new achievements.
Since this time, Porsche has reported victories on hundreds of posters - regardless of whether in racetrack events, on grand prix circuits or the rally. tracks of the earth. Besides this incomparable success story, the posters also stand for an individual, memorable design language, which Erich Strenger developed for Porsche - and designed for decades. His posters won design awards and today are highly sought-after collector's items.
Porsche retained this tradition after the death of Erich Strenger - and this book accordingly exhibits, aside from the variety of information regarding the races themselves, as well as the race and street vehicles, a half century of award-winning graphic and design history.
