New British machines are such a novelty these days that one grabs the opportunity to "try it round the block" with both hands. One tries to make a clean, smart getaway with no muffing of unaccustomed clutch action before the apprehensive owner can change his mind. Easy on the throttle until out of sight and earshot—and then comes tie problem of how long one can decently prolong the ride without causing the owner undue worry.
