New British machines are such a novelty these days that one grabs the opportunity to "try it round the block" with both hands. One tries to make a clean, smart getaway with no muffing of unaccustomed clutch action before the apprehensive owner can change his mind. Easy on the throttle until out of sight and earshot—and then comes tie problem of how long one can decently prolong the ride without causing the owner undue worry. Too short a ride and you can hardly be fair to the reader or the machine, which is why "impressions" are mainly unadulterated praise . . . it's safer that way. Too long a ride and the best friendships can be strained. It's usually pouring with rain, etc..
