The annual, published by Haynes, authored by Julian Ryder, ISBN 9780857332523 # 9 in the exciting Official MotGP Review Series

The official MotoGP Season Review goes into its ninth year celebrating Jorge Lorenzo's second World Championship title in the top class, Marc Marquez securing the Moto2 crown before moving up to MotoGP, and KTM's first road-racing world title thanks to Sandro Cortese in the new Moto3 class.

Lorenzo fought all season long with his fellow countryman and long-time adversary Dani Pedrosa, the pair exploiting the differing strengths of their respective bikes, Yamaha and Honda, yet always lapping within fractions of a second of each other. The only other winner in the top class was Casey Stoner: fast, furious and occasionally fallible, the Australian double World Champion said goodbye to MotoGP with as near a perfect weekend as you can imagine in front of his home fans at Phillip Island.

All this is detailed in the 2012 edition of the MotoGP Season Review, with each MotoGP race report covering eight pages, including a data spread that presents qualifying times, race results, championship positions, lap records and what happened to every rider in the race.

As well as the race coverage, there is the usual in-depth technical analysis of the bikes, complete with magnificent studio images that show them in close detail. The factory machines each have two pages, while a page is provided for each bike in the new Claiming Rules Team (CRT) category and the top bikes in Moto2 and Moto3. The Riders' Rider of the Year vote is back, and as usual the riders' views don't always align with the final championship table.

Once again, British Eurosport's MotoGP commentator Julian Ryder provides the race reports, Neil Spalding the technical analysis, and Mat Oxley the overview of the season. Every page benefits from the stunning photography of Andrew Northcott, the long-time photographer for the MotoGP Season Review.
The MotoGP Season Review is a must-have record of each year in the most exciting and extreme motorsport on the planet.
