The Monza autodrome has played a fascinating and important role in more than a century of motor racing. Constructed in record time in 1922, when it was opened the circuit was well known for its modern facilities and challenging race track, soon becoming one of the most respected venues of its kind among the sport's technicians and drivers. From that moment on, the greatest motor racing champions on both two and four wheels campaigned cars and motorcycles built by the most prestigious constructors, pitting their abilities against each other on the Brianza track and contributing to an exciting legacy of technology and sport.
The task of this official publication by the Automobile Club of Milan is to live again Monza's thrilling history through an incomparable collection of illustrations: 500 black and white and colour pictures featuring the star drivers, riders, cars and motorcycles that have raced there, plus pictures of the key changes to the facility itself during its more than 80 historic years.
