Description
By: Mick Walker .
German Racing Motorcycles is the third in this series. For a considerable period there were two distinct Germanys. Both the West and East produced innovative machinery, often in the vanguard of technical progress, good enough to win world titles. In this respect, the top names in the solo categories were NSU and Kreidler, while BMW, Fath, Munch and König did the business on three wheels. Germany was faced with rebuilding a shattered economy at the end of World War 2. Like Japan, the country not only created an economic miracle, but also constructed world-beating motorcycles. Much of this was thanks to Germany’s skilled engineers, both at factory and private level.
Germany contributed to the development of the sport in a wide variety of ways; engineers, machines, riders, circuits and even record-breakers. The German story has them all.
The third book in Mick Walker's series, it is Germany's time to come under the spotlight. Throughout most of the time period this book covers Germany is split up into the East and West. Both sides produced title winning machines to set a new pace for the era.
