MG is and always has been the greatest British sports car, and the models that have emerged from the Abingdon works have created a cult following which has generated the largest club membership of any marque in Great Britain.
This book does not attempt to be a history of the MG company but an impression of MG personalities and MG cars by an MG enthusiast par excellence, who has known them all and driven most of them.
Indeed, the very first car the author drove at Brooklands was one of the rarest, the 18-100 Tigress. Since then he has driven MGs in all their multifarious forms: from the earliest bull-nosed MG sports, through all the Midgets, the 'M Type', the Double-Twelve. the Montlhery, the series, the `P's and the Ts; all the Magnas and Magnettes including the famous super charged `K3's as well as the special Monaco cars: the 'A's, 'B's, 'C's and the V8 in their many variants.
Rivers Fletcher, from his unique vantage point, writes with considerable wit and style about the world of MG. The book includes well over 200 black and white photographs, most of which have never been published before, covering the entire history of the marque up to present day competition and club events.
This is a fascinating and compelling book by someone who really was and still is very involved in MGs; a must for everyone interested in this increasingly popular marque.
