Description

It was 1989, a vibrant year which saw the fall of the Berlin wall, the rise — and fall — of the poll tax and the birth of Daniel Radcliffe (aka Harry Potter). It was also the year, of course, that the Discovery was launched and, not without good reason, Land Rover held its corporate breath, for the niche market for stylish, off-road vehicles was already  dominated by a wealth of models from the existing protagonists.

As well as telling the story of how the various incarnations — three so far — came into being, this Haynes Enthusiast Guide lists the many and various technical specifications, advice on what to buy (and what not to buy), how to accessorise your Discovery and what it's like to run a Disco on a day-to-day basis. Despite its on-road reputation, the Discovery is extremely capable off-road and so there are details of how to prepare yourself and your Discovery for offroading. This is the essential guide to Discovery ownership and enthusiasm, regardless of how you use it.
