Description
By: Brooklands Books .
The S-Type was introduced as an additional model to the Mk 11 but with the irs, as on the Mk 10. With some of the character of the Mk 11, it was available with the 3.4 and 3.8-litre, six-cylinder XK engine. The 420 and 420G was developed directly from the S-type but resembled the Mk 10 at the front and rear. The special version of the 4.2-litre engine gives the model its name. The equivalent Daimler, the Soverign, bridged the gap between the 2 1/2-litre saloon and the big Majestic Major.
This is a book of contemporary road tests, specification and technical data, new model introductions, driver's impressions, long term tests and buying used guide.
Models covered include:
3.4 and 3.8 S-type, 420, 420 automatic.
