f you look at this book, it's a sure bet you want your Honda to go faster. But in the last five years, the Honda performance market has exploded, with dozens of companies making everything from air intakes to complete aftermarket B-18 racing blocks. It's good to have those kinds of choices, but it also makes it difficult to decide what parts to use. The only way to know for sure how a part works is to install it and run it on the dyno. But do you have access to a dyno?
That's where this book comes in. Author Richard Holdener is an expert when it comes to Honda performance and dyno testing. In these pages, you'll find hundreds of before-and-after dyno tests on Honda engines, with concrete results showing what works and what doesn't.
In addition, the last chapter covers eight engine - buildups in detail: what parts were used, what the engine was used for (everything from street performance to all-out drag racing), and most importantly, how it performed on the dyno.
Holdener doesn't just write about performance, he lives it. In his 1995 Del Sol (used for many tests in this book), Holdener won the inaugural USTCC Pro-Racing Championship in 2000, and he used the same car in the TCCRA road-racing series. He also holds records at Bonneville in G/Production and F/Blown Altered, both set in Honda Civics. His 1999 Civic is a daily driver that's also close to being the first 200-mph Civic in existence, thanks to a supercharged 2-liter B18C that pumps out over 500 horsepower. He knows how Hondas work, and in this book, Holdener gives you the information you need to make smart choices about Honda performance.
