Description
By: Timothy Remus .
Choppers are back! And though the styling might look the same as thirty years ago, the new bikes are assembled from parts that are better in every way from anything available in 1969. New Knuckle and Panhead engines put out 80 and more horsepower. Hardtail and soft-tail frames come in every imaginable stretch and rake dimension. Springer, girder and hydraulic forks are available for the front end, while 200, 230 and 250 rear tyres are available for the rear.
This book is designed to help you build your own chopper. Twelve chapters cover History, Frames, Chassis Components, Wheels and Tires, Engine Options, Drivetrains, Wiring, Sheet Metal and Hardware. Included are the assembly sequences photographed in the Arlen Ness, Donnie Smith and American Thunder shops. As always, the goal is to make you think first, buy parts second and assemble third.
