ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
This is the third in a trio of books covering Hondas sought after Fours of the seventies. Our first title in this short series was Honda CB750 Gold Portfolio 1969-1978 published last year and it was followed by Honda CB500 & 550 Fours Performance Portfolio 1971-1977 earlier this year. The Fours were renowned for their clean lines, smooth ride and `cool' colours. They were oil-leak free and needed little maintenance, in fact they were revolutionary for affordable bikes of the period.
Regular readers of Brooklands books will know that titles like this one are an attempt to create a living archive and to make available to enthusiasts literature about their bikes which, due to time, have become hard to find. In compiling such books as these we depend on the generosity and understanding of the original writers, photographers and of course the publishers of the original journals whose copyright material is reprinted here. In this instance our thanks go to the publishers of Bike, Cycle, Cycle Australia, Cycle Guide, Cycle Rider, Cycle World, Modern Cycle, Motorcycle Enthusiast, Motorcycle Mechanics, Motorcycling Monthly, Motorcyclist, Motorcycle Sport, Two Wheels and Which Bike? for their continued support.
