The bronco was a major milestone in the history of sport-utiliry vehicles. Ford was the first of the major manufacturers to try its hand. Originally with only the 170 engine, the 289 V8 was optional six months later. The V8 option switched to the 302 in 1968 and from 1973 a 200ci replaced the 170ci.
The 302 V8 was standardised from 1975. The original models had interchangeable body sections but by 1971 the market changed adn two years later the pick-up disappeared, leaving the final Broncos as wagons with optional Sport and Ranger levels.
This book is a compilation of contemporary road and comparison tests, new model introductions, technical and specification data and owner's impressions.
Models covered include:
170, Sportsman, Camper, V8 and 200.
