Famous for racing before the war, Ferrari began producing cars bearing his own name in 1947. These were racing cars with the occasional GT for a select customer. The first touring car was built in 1949, the 166 Inter, powered by the classic V12 engine. Next came the 212 Inter and 212 Export. These led to the first of the 250 models. The 250 GT Europa was really the first Ferrari to be produced as a production car. From this the 342 America was introduced with a 4.1-litre engine and followed quickly by the 375 America.
This is a book of contemporary road and comparison tests, specification and technical data, model introductions, driver's impressions and background.
