Falcon XW - XY 1969 - 1972 (Marque Classic Series)

This won't help restorers much, due to the B&W only pics, but is valuable for those looking for more information on these Falcons. The official press releases, in particular, are things that you won't really find published anywhere else - and it's interesting to read how Ford pitched these vehicle to the media back in the day. The reproduced road test reports are what you'd expect, and again are informative. Reproduction quality does let the book down a little, and it would have been nice to have more information on the XY-based 4x4s, but where else are you going to get all this information in "one place"? Disappointing that this volume was never followed up with one on the XA-XB-XC series. There would be a small, but solid market for it.

This book I am happy that I bought, but, like others I have bought from the same writer/publisher, unfortunately there are some inaccuracies that mar the good work that went into it. I would have thought that so long after the initial publishing date that they would have been corrected.

I didn't know what to expect with this book, but I was very disappointed with the quality.....Very informative with all the Road Tests of the day on the full range of vehicles, but it's all black and white photocopies of the original Colour Brochures and for the 50 odd bucks asking price I feel they should have been colour copies of those original brochures and magazine articles.....The only colour shots are the front and rear cover, and a lot of the copies are poor quality and very dark......Good content and very informative, but let down by cheap and nasty poor quality photocopies.....Could have been so much better, and should have been for the price.
