Description
By: Brooklands Books .
Introduced in 1948 as an austerity model, it was planned to be "exceptionally inexpensive to manufacture and economical of fuel, simplicity of mechanical and electrical detail which will allow it to withstand extremes of abuse and neglect in any part of the world". Like all Citroens it was eccentric in its way, but eminently practical. With increasing concern over safety of motor vehicles, the 2CV could not be made to meet regulations without major and costly re-engineering, but by the time production was halted in the early 1990s, it had a continuous production history of over 40 years.
This is a book of contemporary road and comparison tests, specification and technical data, long term tests, model introductions, owner's reports, buyers guide and used survey.
Models covered include:
375cc, Cabriolet, 425cc, Pick-up, Bijou, AZ, AM, AZL, 602cc, Charleston, 2CV6 Special.
