Description
By: Keith Noakes .
BUILD TO WIN provides an outline history of the use and development of composite materials, such as carbon and glass fibres, and Kevlar, in competition cars and motorcycles.
Included are case histories of early composite use in cars such as Donald Campbell's land-speed-record-breaking Bluebird and a Cooper which unfortunately never raced. These are followed by more up-to-date studies of Benetton, Ferrari, Fbrd, Jaguar, Lola, Lotus, McLaren, Motor Racing Developments, Reynard and Williams. The motorcycle field has also been covered with chapters on Armstrong, Ducati, Honda and various Suzukis.
Each chapter has been checked and verified by the team concerned, and Eric Broadley of Lola Cars kindly wrote the foreword.
