PUBLISHER'S NOTE
Once again in BUILD BOOK #3 we take a different approach to showcasing the process of building a unique vehicle from yet another top hot-rod shop in the country. The subject this time is a 1961 Ford Starliner built by ProRides in Warrendale, Pennsylvania, and owned by Denny Terzich, one of the
principals of ProRides.

Rather than showing the build of the car from start to finish in order as with BUILD BOOK #1 and #2, we kept the build and finish photos together. You still will understand how everything was built and manufactured, but in a different format, which makes this book unique and maintains our motto that if every car build can be different, so can every BUILD BOOK.

This, our third issue, was created with ProRides in conjunction with Summit Racing Parts; hence, the tie in with a catalog feel and styling tips. Also, since highlighting the parts used for the build along with providing specific information about the products are major components of the BUILD BOOK philosophy, we felt emulating the Summit catalog would make a great presentation in showing it as an art form.

The SR61 can be defined as a street machine when categorizing it for today's constantly changing field of hot rods. Street machines evolved in the '80s after the Pro-Street craze had reached its peak of popularity. A large, cubic-inch engine, flashy paint, and proportional tires are a good way to gauge a street machine. The difference in this car is that it handles as well, thanks to the chassis and suspension setup. This car mimics a newer style of hot rod called "Pro Touring," but also adds a "sled" essence for looks.

We'd like to thank everyone who has supported BUILD BOOK/ TEAM KILLEEN, and enjoy this issue.
