Description
By: Jim Loveridge .
This book came about because the Publisher wanted his Father to capitalise upon a talent for writing that had been under-utilised by a 40 plus year career in The Law! Aside from being the recipient of the Morgan Sports Car Club's "Red Pen" award for the most outstanding article published in their magazine "Miscellany" Jim Loveridge's writing had for far too long been only read by Party A to the First Part and Party B to the Second — in other words — much as his drafting, contracting and negotiation skills have been recognised by bodies as diverse as The Law Society and The Crown Agents, his grasp of motor sport and the intricacies of its history have remained known only to a select few friends, until The Publisher decided to get him excited by a collection of black and white photographs that had been stored away from the eyes of the world for nigh on fifty years. Once the main albums had been, quite literally, "plonked" into The Author's lap, it was not long before he was scribbling notes, consulting reference books and writing endless "Post-Its" to be carefully affixed to the back of each shot.
Recognition and thanks must go to Mr Ian Wade, for allowing full access to his collection — not to mention allowing the publisher to drive his 250F Maserati at Goodwood — and to Brian Lister both for his encouragement of this project and first class foreword for the book.
