In 100 years motoring changed the world we live in, as it evolved from an eccentric activity for the wealthy into an essential part of everyone's lives. Along the way it has embedded itself in our memories, the cars of our past having the power to provoke reminiscences of family holidays, childhood, romance and all the events that punctuate our lives. Motoring in the 20th century is an inextricable part of our own stories, and that of the times in which we live.
100 YEARS OF MOTORING portrays a century of motorised transport and the changes it wrought in our world. This journey in time is accomplished through 300 images from the Press Association's archives. Hand-picked by Press Association Images' own archivists, many of these extraordinary pictures have lain unseen since they were first published in the newspapers and magazines of their day.
